BISL is one of 6 organisations that sponsor the work of the Sports Caucus in Parliament, alongside Sport England, UK Sport, the Central Council for Physical Recreation (CCPR), the Local Government Association (LGA) and the Fitness Industry Association (FIA). The Caucus, chaired by Andy Reed, the MP for Loughborough, is a group of backbench MPs from the main political parties who are interested in supporting sport in Parliament. In addition to holding monthly meetings with guest speakers leading discussion between members and representatives from the sponsoring organisations, the Group works to raise the profile of key sport and recreation issues through Parliamentary processes, such as questions to Ministers, Adjournment Debates and Early Day Motions.
